The foundation mission of the MDCB consists of establishing and maintaining the certification mechanism. By working with representatives from several related fields, the MDCB receives the benefit of professional thinking from different but relevant Radiation Oncology disciplines. In viewing the broad mission of enhancing the care and treatment of cancer patients, the concept of recognizing Medical Dosimetrist cognitive capability emerged to help define the objectives of the MDCB.
